I'm looking to have a Remmington Rand restored and wondering whom to send it to for repair and restoration?

Don't know where to send for resto, but it looks like only your upper half may be Remington Rand. Your frame is an early Colt commercial (pre-1930), and is a M1911, NOT M1911A1. Pretty cool gun you have there.

Doug Turnbull at Turnbull Restorations... you'll spend some coin, but look at the work they do...

By the way, if you want to know how he knows the frame is a 1911 vs the A1...

-Flat Mainspring Housing
-Longer Trigger

Colt Commercial by the C****** serial number.  A G.I. would just say "No. ******" without a letter, traditionally... though if I remember correctly, the Canadian contract Colts had a C prefix to their serials?

Neither the flat mainspring housing nor the longer trigger are part of the frame and can be easily added to any 1911A1.  It’s identifiable as a 1911 frame because it lacks the relief cut behind the trigger.

Dont do it! Put some new springs in it, (save the old 1's) lube it, and put it away!!!
