I recently sold my built up Norinco to fund a Glock. I use a Glock overseas so I wanted the same gun to practice with when I am home. I was looking at getting a or building a 1911 in 9mm. I found Fusion Firearms. Their kits are exactly what I am looking for. I generally replace everything except the slide, frame and barrel when I build a 1911 anyways so there is no sense in getting a complete pistol.
I was looking at their sight and everything seems well made and the prices seem reasonable without being to high or too low. Here is what comes in the kit: • Fitted frame & Slide • Custom Flat top slide with rear Sure-Grip cocking serrations • Lowered and Relieved ejection port • Frame milled for Fusion, STI, Wilson barrel ramp cut • Fitted ramped match barrel, barrel link and link pin • Fitted stainless steel 400 Series heat-treated barrel bushing • Fitted slide stop • Extended Ejector installed • Plunger tube installed • Recoil system with full length guide rod, recoil spring and cap • Undercut trigger-guard • Chain-Link Stippled front strap • Beveled magazine well • .25 Radius cut for high-ride beavertail • Rear Sight cuts (Novak or Bomar style) • .300 x 60 deg x .060 front sight cut, Standard for all STI front sight cuts • All parts matte bead blast finished Prices are around $700 and I realize it will cost another $400-$600 for the parts needed to finish. Would I be better off buying a used gun then rebuilding it or buying this kit and finishing it? Dolomite |

I bought one of their kits and couldn't be happier with how it came out. Slide, frame, and barrel fit were superb. I was able to take my time and buy my parts and fit them at my own pace. Getting a better deal on a fitted, forged frame and slide with match barrel and bushing is hard to find.
