TRP

A1 is US mil designation of the original 1911 w/ the improvements, IIRC

If STI would have been on his list, that would have been my first choice.

Going by his list, I'd have to say a Springer.

See, the ones i listed above i can buy at a gunshop and if i have any problems i can go right back there and tell him. So do you think i should just wait a lil longer and get the TRP?

Yep. Local gunshop has a stainless TRP marked "used", showing no actual usage marks for $979.00

Im liking the TRP .. im usually a rebel.. and did want to go with the Sig.. but i dont want to take the risk of it breaking..  like all the first one's Sig made.

Dan Wesson!  I know, not on the list, so go with the TRP.

Used Operator Loaded (or new).

Get a small pile of Tripp mags, and you're set.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but for ~1,000 you can buy a minty TRP

You might take the frequency of replies as a big ol hint.

Where can you get a new TRP for $1200?
1/11/2009 2:26:22 PM EDT
[#18]
Go with the TRP.

I actually bought mine lightly used off the EE for $1000.  That included 300 rounds of ammo, 6 mags and a Kramer holster and mag pouch.

ETA:  Of those in your list, I'd go with the SA parkerized loaded model.

I thought the valor was $1400-ish?  Anyway, for $1200-ish I'd go TRP.  For $1000 MC Operator

Yeah they are 1400, but i was looking at a different gun for 1200 so that is where i got the extra 200 from, So i guess the TRP is what i should get.

Colt 1911 WWI Replica

I know, I know, it does not conform to your requested specs but it is what I would get if I had that money to spend.

DAN WESSON,  The Valor is out of your price range, but there are several others that meet your criterion.
1/12/2009 7:11:45 AM EDT
[#23]
oh .. and that extra 200 came from the 1200 i wanted  to spend.

The TRP costs more than a Valor.
The Valor is not $1400ish its lower, and I dont think the TRP is $1200ish I believe it's higher.

So, I would still like to know if a New TRP can be had for $1,200??
1/12/2009 5:30:28 PM EDT
[#25]
NO NO NO.. i never said i can get one for 1200 ..  i said i what is the difference if i spend 200 bucks more, refering to the 1200 i was willing to spend
1200+200= 1400=TRP

probalby STI

lots of other choices i'd consider: Colt, Springer MC Operator/Loaded, Dan Wesson (if i wanted stainless), and SW; i'd also consider Kimber or Sig, IF i liked the model, features, and condition/price

Ok .. see the shop im going to buy from, the owner is a Sig fanatic. .. And i was considering the GSR, but i thought about how the first production of them were all fucked up, i dont want to waste 1000 dollars on a piece of shit.
