Thanks for the help. Looks like I will go with the Milt Sparks VM2. How comfortable are they at the 4:00 position while sitting with a full size 1911?

The only place I really buy kydex anymore is Comp-Tac.

I have a MTAC for my Commander, and love it.

HUGE +1.  The wait for one is around 6 months but it is worth it.  I use Galco holsters while I'm waiting for the Milt Sparks.

If you dont mind waiting a little while, Bulman Gunleather makes outstanding holsters. I have a shoulder holster from them for my 5 inch 1911, an IWB for my 4 inch 1911 and an OWB on order for my 5 inch 1911 also. Also have his mag pouches, they are all top notch. The wait is long, but it was well worth it the first time and im sure it will be well worth it when i receive my new holster too. The IWB i use for my 4 inch is incredible comfortable. It is the TSAF model. Fits the gun perfectly and is incredibly comfortable to wear.

Hands down, the McDaniel II from Andrews Custom Leather.   Makes carrying a full size Gov't 1911 IWB a comfortable all day affair.

You can thank me later.

You have to find the sweet spot that's not quite hip and not quite ass.

Once you find it, you will know and you will forget your are wearing a gun.

Check out K&D Holsters.  Their Dakota Defender model is a fine looking holster with nothing but good things said about from people who own one.  I recall someone on here or another 1911 forum giving a review on it.

Anyways, they make awesome holsters at a good price for a custom holster, but lead time is long right now which makes the MTAC appealing to many people.

I have had several makes of custom holsters for my Commander sized 1911, but my VM2 is by far the most comfortable. I did not have to wait for mine from Milt Sparks as Lightning Arms SPorts keeps them in stock most of the time. Here is their information. If you are interested I would call ASAP.....they go faster than the speed of light.
