DOes anyone carry this model for CCW?

Lett me start off my saying no I never carried one, but my father has one and I have stot a few idpa matches with it.
His never misses a beat.  But I live less than a hour from novaks so he did polish the feed ramp and adj the extractor.    Just a typical reliability package.

As far as carry, I would,  but you must train because those sights on the back are way big.  That could snag clothing.
I'm not sure but if you could replace them with some low mounts and maybe even night sights it would be more ideal.
But with the right holster and lots of training you would be ok.

not the target model...simply b/c of the sights; i prefer fixed, night combat sights for CCW guns

h/w, if the target model is all you got for CCW, then it will suffice in a heartbeat

Ditch the target sights and you have a great carry gun. Target sights are prone to snagging on clothes like a poster above mentioned. I carry a Stainless II and a Pro Carry regularly and they are both great guns.

I've carried my Colt, Gold Cup, when it was all I had available, but, it wouldn't be my first choice!

Mine's picky with mags, but nothing you can't figure out.  Otherwise no problems.  I think I would carry it if I could and would with something that big.  I prefer something a little smaller though.  But others carry full size 1911's.
