I am looking for opinions on the high standard GI model. Does anyone own one? How does it perform, or should I get springfield or something like that?

I'd like one of the High Standard pistols. OTOH, I own a Springfield GI, and really like it.

High Standard is made by Armscor, which coincidentally is the same company that makes Rock Island Armory. It's just a new brand name on the same product. I would expect to find the same quality between RIA and High Standard.
