Ok, Ive been looking for a new 1911 for a while now but I have no idea on which one to choose. Ive narrowed it down to the Springfield TRP, an Ed Brown SF, or something from Wilson Combat. I dont know if the if the last two are worth their price or will the TRP do the same for about $400-600 less.[>:/]

The SF and Wilson are worth every penny but the TRP is very nice also. If you can afford a SF or Wilson get one of those if not, you will be more than happy with a TRP.

Spend less than a thousand a get a decent gun in SIG GSR, Springfield Loaded, S&W 1911.  FWIW I own a SIG and Springer, the SIG is a better gun.  I've only handled and shot a few rounds through a Smith but it seems to be a good one as well.  Colts are of course the originals and can be had for less than a thousand as well.

If you get a TRP and pay to replace all the MIM parts, and have them fitted properly.  Cleanup the trigger and do the reliability work like on semi-custom, it would add more to the price than the $400-600 that a Brown, Baer, NHC or Wilson would cost.

I have the same price range as you and are saving for a SA loaded or STI spartan due to price and options and opinions on them compared to others.  I'm still deciding between those 2 though (leaning 2ward the spartan righ now).
