I have a colt combat commander in 38 super that was given to me by my Grandpa.
It is the satin commander as the serial starts with 70sc. I like to shoot it but it bites me pretty good. My question is ,could I get a beavertail put on that would look good but not have to do anything to the frame. would it take its value down my doing this.(im not going to sell it anyways). Ill try and get some pics up when I get to my parents house where my safe is. Thank you

If it is done right it will only make it more valuable, unless there is something about it that makes it collectible. If it is a shooter, I suggest you send it off to have a full house custom made out of it.

They sell aftermarket bevertails that attach to the frame with no modification.  Some of Colt's pistols were supplied like this, some may still be. I have not seen a new colt in a gs in years.

Email Wilson and see. IIRC one company made on the worked better with a sprinfield the other company made one that worked better with non-springers.
