I just bought a Colt 9mm upper off the EE.  I am planning to use it with my full rail operator as seen below.  I don't like the lines of the pistol up front.  I thought I may have to fit the slide, but the 9mm slide seems as smooth if not smoother fit than my operator slide.  I do have to fit my ejector.

If I keep it like this, the stock SA grips suck, and are being changed out to black grip tape grips and I'm adding a low profile mag well mainspring housing.

I will be using this as a steel gun and as long as it performs, looks do not matter that much.

What is the hive mind...yah or nah

Are you trying to slap a 9mm slide onto a .45 frame?

yep, 9mm complete slide, 9mm mag, and the 9mm ejector.  It seems to feed real well.  I have to fit the ejector a bit more before I test fire though.

The ejector is supposed to be the biggest problem.

I just ordered a full rail custom shop operator last month - it will be hard chromed and in 9mm. But, the wait is 9 months... 1 month down.

It will be like a Pro, but with the full rail and in 9mm. I also had the LPI checkering changed to 25LPI, and I didn't want Black T.

Anyway - once U get that all together and working, let us know how it goes

I checked into that as well, but didn't want to have to deal with the wait.  We will see how this goes lol

LOOKS GOOD, WHAT EJECTOR ARE YOU USING, WILSON, BROWN, ETC..............
DID YOU PUT A LITTLE TENSION ON THE EXTRACTOR.....DID YOU CHANGE THE SLIDE STOP.............. EVENTUALLY YOU WILL GO WITH A RAMPED BARREL.....................................CASPIAN 9MM PARA RAMPED, KKM PRECISION BBL

good looking pair!

The upper including the slide stop and ejector are all colt.  I'm hoping not to have to go with a ramped barrel.  I do not want to jinx myself, but the pistol really seems to feed well.  I'll get out to the range in a few days and we will see!

I built two and converted one to 9mm para. Had all running with non-ramped barrels. For numerous reason all three now sport ramped barrels. Like I said, all three guns were running with ball ammo in non-ramped barrels.

If you run into any problems let me know and i will see if I can help you out. good luck
