I currently shoot a Colt  gold cup national match series 70 and was thinking about purchasing a second 1911. Considering a dan wesson pointman 7.  Would appreciate comments from anyone who has some experiences with this weapon.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Dan Wesson makes one of the nicest built 1911's out there.  You won't be sorry.  They also stand behind their product 100%.

I picked up a Pointman Minor about six years ago (before DW was bought by CZ).  I did a few minor embellishments to the gun right away, not necessary just preferable.

Since then it's seen about 9,500-10,000 rounds and been completely reliable.  It's a very well built gun and extremely acurate.

I've owned a lot of 1911's, this one is still probably best bang for the buck I've come across.

The only real downside is they are only available in Stainless.

Yes they are stainless.......however, I just sent a DW CBOB out to me melonited....cant wait to post before and after pics.....

I shot a match this weekend (IDPA) and turned a bunch of heads when someone asked what Pistol I was using and I said "Dan Wesson".....

I have put at least 2K rounds thru mine with no problems (that were not caused by me).....
