I picked up a Springfield 1911 A-1 in the early nineties and like a dumbass sold it later but it was arguably the best .45 I had. It's serial # began NM had the cross cannons stamped behind the ejection port w/ Brazil stamped forward on the frame. It has a utility blued slide I believe and a lighter blued frame giving it almost a two tone appearence. When did Springfield quit bliung and start Parkerizing it's Gov. models AND does anyone know if I can replicate that worn blue on my Mil Spec (other then blueing it and handling the hell out of it)? |
