Well went to the store looking for a 9mm ended up picking up a Springfield GI Milspec.  Liked the plain look and was in the market for one that I could use as a base to upgrade to my liking.  First changes include changing out the guide rod and plug for Wilson Combat, and changing out the main spring housing for a Night Hawk Custom.

Now a snag in the works has happened, the safety which was easy to manipulate earlier now is difficult to engage.  I am planning to switch out the GI safety for a extended model anyway but any solutions for now?

After which mod did the safety become difficult to move?

Make sure the sear spring didn't get shifted out of place and hang something up.  Otherwise the MSH shouldn't change alignment of any of the ignition parts that would effect the thumb safety.

You did replace the ILS Mainspring and components with  standard  mainspring cap, retaining pin, etc. when you swapped out, right?

If you reused the internal parts of the Springfield ILS Mainspring housing, then this could be a source of your trouble.

I'll put up a link to the required parts for the swap in a minute.
