I picked up a new SA GI and ran about 30 rounds of FMJ
more to just funtion fire it. There is the usual barrel to slide play
and during a field strip the bushing was plenty loose. It shot 1.5 - 2"
3 shot groups at 25 meters but they were all 8" - 10" off @ 9:00.
Then it started grouping further left off the paper.
Will a Match bushing correct this? It's going to be the platform for a tactical
gun and I was assuming it would end up with a match barrel anyway but
I'd like to plink with it until I get serious.

If it is grouping consistantly to one side, either your grip on the pistol, trigger finger placement, or sights are usually the problem.

A match bushing and barrel may tighten the groups a bit, but shouldn't really be used to adjust point of impact.  It just isn't as practical as drifting the rear sight to the right a bit or adjusting your grip.

It's the same grip I've always used and back in the IPSC days in the eighties
and if a gun didn't stack them on top of each other on steel there was
something wrong with it. I just stopped on a dirt ranch road and with no hearing
protection, pulled it out of the box and started blasting at a piece of cardboard
so it wasn't a formal test. I do admit that tinny short trigger and 7+lb trigger
with the novelty mil sights are something I'm not used to. I'm going to drop
another trigger group in it and stick a Tripp (STI) longer trigger in it and get serious.
I just got it for the frame/slide anyway.

Is it the gun or is it you?

mine grouped a few inches left but was consistent and accurate. Check to see if your sights are centered, or not loose

Ah, those novelty sights are just there to complete the gun. In fact, in the close,
live fire scrutiny I realized the front sight is actually leaning left. The bushing is
sloppy loose also. After I break it in it'll have Heinie Slant Pro's and a match barrel.

If the sight is leaning left, then the pistol should shoot to the right.

Are you someone's troll account?

It's not leaning 'leaning' to the left but the front sight's not perfectly straight,
slightly leaning left. And yeah, it shoots good groups to the left.
And WTF is an account troll?

My mil spec is the same way. the front sight is not straight, I drifted the rear sight to the right a bit and it helped some.
