will it take normal regular 1911 magazines and what are the best, this is my first 1911 copy and just wanted it to compliment the garnand and carbine

Wilson Combat mags are the best. Try the 47DC or 47C

Chip McCormick 8rd mags will work just fine in any 1911 made.

Except my springfield. Their followers are suspect. I installed Wilson inards in a
couple of McC tubes, and I'm golden. They now work as well as my Wilson 8rd mags.

Hence, I'm buying Wilsons from here on out.

CMC mags are all I run in all three of my Springfield's w/o the first issue.
