... OK, so I took the plunge... After another terrible day with my M-9 where I was able to plug big holes in the 10 with my buddies 1911, I decided it was time for a change... So I have a new-to-me kimber Pro CDP 2... Anyhow, all I have is the gun and a single kimber magazine. I tend to like having more than a handfull of magazines and I also wanted to hear about ammo from anyone who has a Pro CDP 2...

1. What are the various thing to look for in a 1911 magazine? After looking through the picture thread, I think I like the asthetics of magazines like this one

or this one

of course how things look doesn't determine how well they work... What are some great magazines choices? What are the magazines in the pictures?

2. Ammo... Every gun seems to have a favored ammo of choice... Anyone know what works well with Kimbers? Even better, what works well with a Pro CDP2?

Thanks!

you can't go wrong with chip mc cormick mags, i have a few and they are great. the wilson mags are great. i just got 2 new kimpro tac mags and i am waiting to try them out. Tripp research makes great mags as well.

Wilson 47D
McCormick Powermags, 8 and 10 rnders.  Their Shooting Star mags work great in my Kimber, although alot of folks don't seem to like 'em.

My Kimber's a 5 inch (Custom II), but it'll feed pretty much anything I put through it, including my own various reloads.

--Wilson Combat and Tripp Cobras are the top 2 i would consider

ammo, depends; whats it for, defense, plinking, etc?  FWIW: pick a good load that feeds reliable in your kimber (each one is diff), i'd look for Win Ranger Ts, Speer Gold Dots, and Fed HSTs, and DXP for carry ammo
