well i officially own a 1911 now. just purchased a used springfield mil spec cheap, dirt cheap. it has nothing at all done to it i all ready scratched the perk finish on it putting it back togeather so thats gotta go. think i am going dura coat some flat color. but thats just cosmetics. this thing had hardly any rounds thru it. gotta love family owned guns. lol 200 bucks seems like a killer deal. i put a box of ammo thru it. ran flawless to my surprise but still gonna send it to novak for some sights. is that the first thing i should do? i need to get some thiner grips i think the mag drop is to far away i have to roll it to get it with my thumb. the safty is tight, will that free up more the more i use it? can i get stainless or aluminum? where's everyone get parts brownells? any tips let me know thanks |

whats the best way to go on sights? i'm thinking novak fully adjustable black back and tritium or fiber optic front also adjustable just so i can sight in with what i reload and not stuck with one round. since the back is all ready dove tailed will it fit or will i have to get mill work on that as well as the front Love the gun though runs flawless so far with about 100 rounds thru it but i also have wilson combat mag's. |
The slide is gonna need milling if you plan to go with that setup. |
