Howdy folks,

I have a frame begging to built into a full pistol. In looking around for all of the various parts, I stumbled across a link to Fusion Firearms.

I'm curious to know whether or not anyone here has any experience with this company, and what your opinion of them is.

I'm specifically looking at the Scout kit.

Thanks for your input.

Fusion is a first class operation.  Their parts are first quality and Bob Serva knows his 1911's.

I've used three of their barrels in the past. I'm currently using a fusion 5" ramped Government model 9mm in a Springfield GI model I converted to 9. Super good folks to do business with. well made product.

Anyone have any idea who makes his frames and slides?

I'd venture a guess that they're made in house.

Call him and ask him.  I talked with him today about a 9mm build and I think I'm going to go with him on it.  He was very nice, very knowledgeable and very forthcoming with info about his stuff. I like that none of his stuff is MIM.  His kits are pretty straightforward with not a lot of room for customization, which allows him to keep the build prices down.

The only place this really hurts me is that I'd rather have checkering than the chain link, but the frames that are cut for a ramped barrel like I'll use on the 9mm build do not come that way.  I guess I can live with it as its got the rest of the features that a $2400 Wilson would have, but is a grand less.  I really like my Wilson, but think I'll give Bob a try and see what he can come up with for the money.

I have a frame that I'm going to be building a 6" 9mm for my father with.  I'm about to start on it, but have had the frame a while.  My first impression is it looks great and I'll know more when I put the cutter to it and start hand fitting the slide.

I'll put pictures up of the build when I get it done, but it's one of those backburner guns since paying customers come first.  Sorry Dad, the guys that actually pay for the labor gets taken care of first.

Take care,
Bob

I just ordered a bunch of parts. They have some real nice prices. Hopefully they are top quality.
