Here is the deal. I am planning to build a 1911 in 45 ACP, using a Fusion Pro-Series Commander slide. It comes with a

Novak .495 X 65 degree rear sight cut and a
331 x 65 x .070 front dovetail cut

what are the best / lowest profile sights I can use?

The three sights I am currently looking at are Wilson 3 dot, Novak 3 dot and Heinie Straight Eights.

Ideally I would like for the sights to be zeroed for fifteen yards and I definitely want fixed sights with a very low profile

If you were to choose what would be your choice and why

I plan to use this pistol for daily carry and IDPA matches

Thank you in advance for your replies

The "best" is subjective. The lowest profile is probably the Novak.

It's all personal preference. Me, I can't stand vertical sights like the Straight Eights or the XS, other love them.

for me it would be either the Novaks or Trijicons. (I generally install Trijicons)

Most of my autos have a Novak Tritium bar-dot set up. I also like the Heinie slant pro rear with just a Tritium front. YMMV
