I recently acquired one of these, and the frame appears matte. If it's been sandblasted, is it neccesary to re-anodize the frame before firing?

Mine was anodized, then I put Alumahyde over it.

Did someone put a finish over the anodizing?

My alloy frame is matte as well.  Factory finish as far as I can tell.

It looks like it was bead blasted. I found a place locally that can re-anodize it for cheap. I'm thinking it's lacking anodizing because when I handle the frame, it rubs off black.

Aluminum gets most of its strength from the anodizing from what I understand.  Under that, it's fairly soft.  So if for some strange reason someone stripped off the anodizing, the frame might be too soft to stand up long to use.
