I'm not to familiar with 1911s at all so could someone tell me what the "O-Frame" style is? Is it your basic 1911 from like Kimber or Colt, or what?

Not sure about the "O" frame, but Colt's custom shop does what they call the "O" package to any 1911 you send them. This package consists of de-horning the pistol, replacing the grip safety with a S&A beaver tail grip safety, adding a commander-style hammer,  cutting dovetails and installing Novak or Novak type front and rear sights and refinishing. The cost is roughly $375.00. (They can make it night sights for an additional $100). I have also heard that included in the "O" package is an aluminum trigger and trigger job but I may be wrong about that.
Some of the other brand 1911's already have some, but not all, of the above mentioned features.

Before "O" package.

After "O" package. (different gun)

just as most makers have codes used to identify parts,so does colt. for instance s&w uses terms like j frame k frame so on. yes an O frame in colt is the standard colt government model frame

So different Manufacturers will call it different things but they're all basically the "O-Frame" style?
