Anybody have one? What do you think of it?

Love mine.  Mine's in the low 100's.  Talon made to my spec, and I had it less than three weeks after I ordered it.

I did a couple of writeups on my custom gun they did.

You'll get mixed reviews.  I had a Talon and it wasn't up to par.  The fit and finish was not the same as the Wilsons and Les Baers I own.  They seem to let a lot of quality issues slip through the cracks.  I've seen more cosmetic issues from NHC than any other semi-custom maker.

They can make a good 1911 when they want to.  Recently, 10-8 and Larry Vickers have both pulled their models from NHC.  They have stated that they have ran their course and Vickers stated that it was no longer "price competitive" but the word on the street is that Hilton and Larry were not happy with the quality from NHC and pulled the association with them.  That would give me something to think about if I was going to spend $$ on a NHC.

I own a Heinie PDP and I would say it has good fit and finish except for an unsightly gap between the bottom of the rear sight and the top of the slide.  I am waiting to hear back from Nighthawk about getting this fixed for me.

I've owned Baers, Browns and Springfield Custom Shop guns and to be honest I would probably order from any of these places before Nighthawk.  I just haven't seen enough out of my Nighthawk to justify the premium price.

Huh -- I haven't heard about their QC issues.  That's too bad.  I've really liked mine, but I'm very sorry to hear that they're having problems.  I would be pissed if I had plunked down $3k and gotten a blem gun.

If it's worth anything, mine is THE finest example of craftsmanship I've seen in terms of cosmetics.  It's better than my dad's Brown or my Wilson.  Slide to frame fit is amazing and everything is expertly detailed.  Not a blem on it no matter how anal you get.  It's quite accurate too.  I had some break in issues due to the extractor having too much tension, but it's been 100% over the last 800 rounds.  I only have a little over 1k through it so far so I don't have enough rounds through it to compare its performance to other high-end guns other than accuracy -- it's more accurate than the Brown or Wilson in my hands.

My next gun will likely be a Wilson... maybe a Baer.  But just because I can.  Although hearing about the QC issues might cause me to think twice about NHC -- I can say based on my hands-on experience with one of their guns that they can and do do amazing work.

And I don't doubt it, I know they can make a great 1911.  I just think they are either trying to get too many out the door or they are getting cocky.  Either way, they have the ability to make a great gun, now they just need to be consistent.

Could be -- I'm not contradicting you guys - just trying to offer my experience .

My favorite gun is a Wilson and always will be .  And you can't beat their customer service if you do have a problem.  I'm not sure if NHC is the same....

I own a Nighthawk T3 that I bought in December that had an ejection issue where the brass was hitting the slide and marring the Perma Kote. You never like to have to return a new gun for a problem, especially one that retails for $2700. I was, however, very happy with their service and their attitude.

I sent it back and they corrected the problem. While it was there I had the gun refinished in Diamond Black at the cost Nighthawk pays their vendor. Now the pistol is absolutely perfect and has had no failures in over 700 rounds.

The detail work on Nighthawk's guns is as good as Wilson and Baer. I like the T3 so much that I just placed an order for a Talon 5" with Diamond Black, fiber optic front and adjustable rear sights.

Are you sure?  I was thinking it might be a double action double stack something or other.

For my next gun?  You never know... I want another G19, M9, and XD 45 Tactical...

But my next 1911 will be a Wilson or Baer

Have a Talon in stainless and love it, regularly shoot IPSC with it. There isn't a firearm made that you will find 100% happy customers. Opinions are like        well you know.
