I was looking for some cheap 1911 magazines online. I found a good price of $4.61 over at DPMS. But i don't know if they will work worth anything. Of course i'm also thinking of getting either the Mec-Gar for $15 or Chip McCormick Shooting Stars for $13 since they are higher quality and i know they will work and they are still fairly inexpensive. I also heard that the mags over at AIM were decent for about $8 each. What do you guys think? I'm wanting to get a bunch so the cheaper the better, but i do need them to work of course.

If cheap mags worked so well, then why are the expensive ones selling so well? They really aren't that much prettier. The magazine is the root of (almost) all automatic failures, and your own gut is telling you otherwise as evidenced by your OP.

Do yourself a favor and pony up the moolah for some CMC PowerMags, Tripp and/or Wilsons IMHO.  I've been down the value magazine path and it is not worth it, unless you like having doubts about your pistol being reliable.

Yeah i use Tripp Research mags for my carry gun and love them. But these are more just for practice.

Cheap mags sometimes work. Usually don't work all the time.

I have Kimber, Colt, Springfield, and CMC mags. They all work 100% for me.

You can sometimes pick up the Kimbers and CMCs pretty cheap if you know where to look.

Midway has CMC Powermags on sale for $16.  They are excellent mags and thats about as cheap as you should go.
