I am looking for all the brands that make a high polished nickel/stainless steel 1911. here's an example.

You could always shoot a pimp with a regular gun, then take his....

Just kidding, but seriously I haven't personally seen any production high polished guns like that.

buy whatever brand 1911 you want, and send it off to be nickel plated. that way you get the exact firearm (brand, quality & features) that you want, as well as the exact finish you want.

or have it hard chromed

Why does nickel plated have such a bad rep here?  I think shiny 1911s are sexy.

I've seen those rock island guns in person and they aren't especially nice as far as chrome jobs go.  I'm not so sure about the differences between chrome nickel plating and hard chrome plating, but I've heard that hard chrome is a more durable finish.  Hard chrome usually seems a bit brighter than the nickel guns, so it's probably more of a matter of taste.  The other problem with buying a 1911 in chrome is the refinishing issue that may come up if you decide to modify it.

I like hard chrome, but prefer bead blasted to a matte finish. Yes, only hard chrome after you have done all your mods. Then again. I prefer stainless because you can continually mod and not worry about an expensive refinish.
