I'm picking up a new 1911 in the morning, I narrowed the choices to a Dan Wesson Stainless (Bobtail Commander size), a Parkerized Spring Field Loaded and a Blued Colt Government Model (series 80) no bells, no whistles and it rattles when you shake it. Funny but I find myself drawn to the Colt.
What do you guys think ?

What is the purpose of the firearm.

If it's a self defense/CCW piece I would lean heavily towards the CBOB (good sights, good trigger, and I like the bobtail for carry)

Otherwise, I like rattle-trap Colts.

I would go for the Colt or the Springfield.

I think that parkerized Springfield is one of the best values and nicest packages for a 1911.  Good finish, night sights, beavertail, ambi-safety, etc.  All for like $700.

I'm also a huge Colt fan based on the performance I've seen from their pistols.  I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.

No further debate needed, IMO.

It's a done deal, I ended up getting the Dan Wesson. I kind of liked the size so I thought I would try one.
Thanks,

I think you made the right decision.
Very happy with my CBOB, though I replaced the grips with Davidsons.

Nice CBOB!!!

Rabon, for safety's sake, until your new sweetie is broken in, use some lithium grease ( or tetra gun grease if you have it ) on the slide rails in addition to your standard lube.  This will keep the stainless from galling if the fit is a bit tight.  Once it's broken in....I don' think you'll have to worry aboout it.
