I just talked to my friend Rich at Colt and he told me the WW1 repos have been discontinued and the 01918 is taking it's place.
The 01918 is a WW1 repo that is finished in a Black Army style finish instead of the Carbonia blue as the WW1 repos. The 01918 will not be a limited run pistol.
I hope to have a few pictures of the new Colt soon.

Oh goody flame time

One might say they have had an early start on the 1918s because a lot of the later WWIs came out looking black(er). My recollection is that my reject had the most unreal blue finish and the replacement seemed to be blacker instead of that rich "gray-blue". In all fairness though, I was comparing reality of the new to perceived recollection and a flash picture of the old, but I have heard others talk about theirs having a black(er) finish.

Black(er) or blue, it still is a real fine example of a Colt nevertheless. I suppose they made the 5,000 run after all. Does anybody know if the new one has the same rollmarks, packaging, etc?
