Is see that frames come in carbon steel Stainless steel Alluminum Titanium SO what is the difference between the 2 steel types, is one any better than the other???? BA_80 |

The first two are of comparable weight. The former is a little stronger but much more prone to corrosion (unless you have a phenominal finish). When the finish wears, it must be professionally (often espensively restored). The latter has much better corrosion resistance and can be bead blasted to look new, but it comes with the expense of being a little softer. The next two are lighter weight. Aluminum has the shortest life on the frame, but it is the cheapest lightweight out there, and it would take a lot of shooting to wear one out. The titanium (alloy) frames are light and strong and hard as hell to work on and expensive as hell. There's a crash course for you. |
