champion? I'm not familiar with what you are refering to. also, have you seen the sight that Caspian makes, very similar and they make no mention of having to remove any material to get it to work properly. thanks

Champion is a chinese knock-off, I talked to Novaks on the phone today. they charge 25.00 to make the cut for the hinge of the adjustable sight to work properly.

i dont know if they are chinese knockoffs, address is GA.  if they are, they are not priced accordingly, and are high quality nonetheless.

Kevin at Novak informed they were Chinese posers.

I had them replace the factory installed P-T night sights (front and rear) on my Colt Night Officer's ACP, with their adjustable model and a matching front sight.

I UPS'd the stripped slide to Novak's last spring and had it back quickly, as they advertise. Since the front sight had been silver soldered on, I had them bead blast & blue the slide to match the original finish.

Looks good, yea I have sent 3 slides off to novak for sights, yep, they are fast, and do great work.

Oh by the way, is that an officer slide on commander frame?

Sure is! Colt did a couple of runs of this configuration back in the 90's, IIRC.

I like it for IWB carry: The full length butt isn't as much a problem for me, as the extra 1.5" of Gov't model barrel and slide would be when it's IWB.

That said, I also carry a Gov't model, from time to time, depending on season and how dressed up I am.

I just can't warm up to them, I'm a big fan of Novak's fixed sight, though.

I'd be inclined to call that the commanding officer, totaly sweet. I was thinking about that combination myself. awsome, does it use bull barrel or bushing?. would it work with a bushing?

It came with the standard Colt Officer's barrel, bushing, recoil plug, and spring. I'm still using the barrel and bushing. It also got a good trigger job, and a McCormick Carbon Fiber short trigger installed shortly after I got it new.

I recently put in a Sprinco guide rod and recoil plug. It replaced the Harts recoil reducer I had been running for a while, until the tab on the bottom of that recoil plug sheared almost completely away. I put the the Hart's unit on to avert the stock plug from doing that!

I like that frame size: I did put a Gov't model size flat MSH (w/ a flush lanyard loop hole), and Gov't model size grip panels on it. I also get to use full size 8 rd mags, without them hanging out of the bottom or over-inserting.

Colt has had that configuration out before, as a custom shop project. One run was called the "Lieutenant Commander":

as well as a couple of runs of the "Night Officer", and a run of the "Commanding Officer"

Thats a cool set up, your pistol looks awsome. I think I'm going to do something like that witha pistol I have now. I'm going to put a carbon steel Officers slide on a stainless commander frame and do it in 9mm parabellum with a ramped barrel.

thanks gunny
