Rumor has it the first full-auto 1911 was created by a young Lt. George S. Patton. Seems he did a "trigger job" on his 1911 & when he went to test it, it shot the entire mag with a single trigger pull. He almost got court martialed over FUBARing govt property, potentially wrecking the future career of one of America's greatest generals. |

I had one happen in class once. The instructor said, "I expect to see all eight rounds in a nice grouping" It didn't work out that way. The cause was a trigger job, not by me, and the result of an overtravel screw not being either locktited, or staked. It was funny though when it happened. |
Dayum! I think im in love |
Wasn't Patton a die-hard revolver fan in his younger days? |

Oh my.... CXS |
No clue about that, but there weren't a whole lot of semi's then other than the 1911. Not to mention he was in the Army when it happened & it was his issue gun. Obviously later on he carried his six-shooters. No one would dare tell a General what to carry as a sidearm............... |
