Howdy all, Having troubling locating Para double stack mags for my 1911'ish Nite Tac in 9mm. I found the Mec Gar site and bought two, but they just look and feel cheesy. Anyone out there know of a source? Also someone on another forum mentioned that .38 super, and 9mm double stack mags for the 1911's are the same...any truth to this? Thanks in advance. Pat |

www.paraord.com/ Its my understanding 9mm/38super are the same- I had a couple for my 9mm marked for both but it was a older P-18 |

Theres a tweak to the 9mm mags to get them to feed right with the shorter rounds over just using 38 super mags, hence don't waste your time buying factory preban mags (any 9 or 38 super) unless you want to send them into para to be replaced for the new ones. Note: the new p18 mags are silver, where as the preban mags are blue. I just sent para two P-18 pre-ban mags that where problem children, and got back two brand new units that feed all day long today without a single jam (read over 400 rounds). When I talked to para about the problem a while ago regarding the old mags having problems, I was told that at that time (right before the ban), they just wanted to get as many mags in the states as could be produced/imported, no matter if they ran or not since they could be replaced (what they just did for me). If you do a check for P18 mags, you should be able to pick up new factory 9mm 18 rounders for $39 to $45 each. |
