I bought a Wilson Combat main spring housing to replace the plastic Kimber one.  After the swap, the firing pin block lifter arm will not drop completely level with the top of the frame (won't allow the slide to be installed).

The Wilson package states that it is "drop in".  Is this usual for the main spring housing to requiring fitting for proper function?  When I drop the main spring housing free of the grip safety, the arm drops down as it should.  Basicaly, the main spring housing is not letting the grip safety release completely, therefore not allowing the arm to drop clear of the frame.

I can see exactly where I would need to remove a little steel on the housing but want to check before I filed on anything.

MSHs are about as "drop in" as you can get, next to grip panels. My guess is misinstallation, something to do with a hangup from the Swartz system, or something out of spec (in that order).

You would think, but there are two little ears on top of the MSH that need to be trimmed (filed down) if the grip safety is draggin on them.  Not common but would cause the grip safety to stick and not allow the plunger to drop into the frame.

The two ears on the MSH are what I'm talking about trimming down.  I just wasn't sure if this is normal or if I have a bigger problem and shouldn't do this.
