I picked it up this past Tuesday while on leave in TX (San Antonio). I saw it sitting on the shelf at the local shooting range. Since I received some B-Day money early, it only cost $300 bucks out of my own pocket. I'm happy with it. It came with 2 8 round Colt mags. It was NIB.

ElIntocable, that is a damned fine looking Colt!  Congrats and happy birthday.  Where are you stationed?  Leavenworth or Lost-In-The-Woods?

Thanks! My birthday isn't until the 28th of this month, but since I was home, I was given my gift(s) early! I'm stationed at Whiteman AFB.

ETA: Love your sig!

Thanks.

Keep us updated once you shoot this bad boy.  I presume you live off-post and won't have to store it in an armsroom?  If I were you, I'd get yourself an S&A magwell to install and some Tripp Cobramags, as well as a high/upswept grip safety.  Then, just have the frontstrap checkered and a trigger job done, and you'll be better off than 90% of the custom jobs out there!

Oh, and get some silver Colt medallions installed in those grips!  You gotta show off the Colt pride!!!  I won't have a Colt pistol w/o something "Colt" on the grips!!

Here are my Ponies . . .

Thanks for the pointers. I was looking at some high/upswept beaver tails from Wilson Combat, but they said say that frame modification is required. I'll be having someone install the stuff, but it just concerned me a bit. The slide catch and ambi safety seem like they are MIM. I'm not sure, but they don't seem solid like my friends SA Loaded. Maybe it's just the finish.

I'm going to go and shoot it today. I'll let you know how it went.

 Beautifull weapon.

It's a mirror image of my everyday carry gun.

 Enjoy
