After a few postings on here and some debate on the type of 1911 I should buy, I decided on the AO. I talked to a few gunsmith friends and they suggested every different brand on the market but they all agreed that AO makes a good 1911 style handgun. I purchased this gun today and it should be in by the end of this week. As soon as I receive it I'll post some pics.

Which brings me to my questions. Since this is my first 1911 I want to hang on to it for a while and learn from it. But, I would like to mod it out also. I don't plan on doing most the mods myself as I don not wish to mess it up. I am curious though to know what kind of mods I should do to it to make it unique among my friends 1911 at the range.

Any suggestions?

They're entry level at best, by most shooters accounts. (No offense.)

Unique or more accurate?  I suggest more accurate.

New sights, a better barrel & a trigger job would be my suggestion. I do urge caution about sinking more $$$ into an AO, though. The cheaper change is simply new grips in your preference of style.
