Parkerized loaded model. Take the extra change and buy mags, ammo, and leather then go shoot.

I would recommend the Stainless Loaded, Model PX9151L.  I bought one a year and a half ago, and it shot so well, that I bought another one (while they are still in production) at the last Dulles Gun Show.

I use a combination of mags that came with it and Chip McCormick Power Mags, and all work flawlessly.

Price varies greatly from dealer to dealer.  But you should be able to find one for around $100 less than MSRP.

Good luck !!!

Good advice here, IMO. I would avoid the light railed versions as a matter of personal taste, myself.

One can generally find guns for 10-15% less than the MSRP price I've found.

Good luck!

I just got a Springfield Milspec Model .45 and on Friday I put 100 rounds of FMJ through it without a problem. Pretty accurate once you get past the recoil. Beautiful gun. The pistol cost me about $650 with the price of the gun, shipping, insurance, tax, and FFL factored in.

Edit...one of the targets...smaller holes from 22 revolver...7 yards
