I just bought a Kimber Custom TLE/RL ii .45, It is my first 191I style .45. I took it out shooting the other day it fired smooth and was accurate but when i got home to clean it I noticed that there was some play in the barrel when the slide was locked back. Is this normal or is this a defect?

Thanks

This is perfectly normal. When the slide comes back on a 1911, the barrel "unlocks" from its normal firing position. There will be some play. Now, if when the slide is returned to the normal firing position, there is play in the barrel, that is when you should be concerned.
