I just finished a Series 80 Colt for a customer and thought I'd show some pictures of the finished product.

List of upgrades are:  Action job, Bevel and Polish Magwell, Checker at 30LPI, fit Kart Barrel and EGW bushing, Ed Brown Beavertail, Miller Custom Mainspring Housing (30 LPI), Greider Trigger, Tactical Thumb Safety, weld the front sight pocket before Flat Topping and Serrating, re-cut the front sight dovetail and install a Miller Custom front sight, The frame and slide was bead blasted and the sides brushed polished with a high polished barrel hood.

Here is a picture of it before I started.

And here are a few after I finished.  The customer requested to omit the Miller Custom font on the dust cover.

I got a new 10.6 Megapixle camera, but am still learning how to use it so the images may be a little fuzzy.  I'll keep working on my photographing, but you get the idea.

Thanks,
Bob

If it weren't for the front cocking serrations, it would be perfect. It's a beautiful pistol nonethe less.

That is probably the best looking XSE I have ever seen.  I usually hate Colt XSE's.

Bob,
Seeing this only gets me MORE stoked!!!  As was said on LTW, you took a pretty ugly duckling of a 1911 and made it a swan.  Beautiful.

Beautiful work.

I'm fortunate to have a Commander on which Bob worked his magic.  Meticulous handiwork, amazing trigger, and extremely accurate.  It makes me smile every time I handle it.

do you do the finishing yourself , and if so how much for a copy finish on a similar gun

Oh, I do all the finishing work besides Teflon, Hard Chrome, and the exotic finishes out there.  The blue shop that I do my bluing at lets me run the tanks when he runs a batch.

I can't discuss pricing or advertise on the forum, though the moderators are kind enough to let me show off some work from time to time.

Take care,
Bob
