| I just picked up a used Caspian 1911 frame from the EE. I want to replace most of the internals since I'm not really sure what the previous owner used for the build. I need to put a Wilson beavertail on it since it already has that beavertail cut. I want an ambi safety on it. I don't mind doing a little fitting but I would like to keep it to a minimum. What do you guys recommend? |

almost everything will need to be fitted. As far as quality stick with Ed Brown hardcore, Wilson Bulletproof, EGW, C&S you will be good. Study up on how to fit a thumb safety, if done improperly it could make for a very unsafe gun. See Pistolwrench's sticky at the top. I'd find a super cheap single safety to practice on, better to ruin a $5 POS part than a $50 ambi. I ruined the first safety I fit in fact. Stay away from Wilson's "value line' or whatever it's called, it's MIM and not the best stuff, if you are looking for the best. |
