Well, my plate is full between selling one house, buying a new one, two kids, and job. Somehow, I do find some time to work on my 1911 project. I couldn't find the thread I started with the project so I will make a new one.
I have taken a Charles Daly frame and "melted" all of the edges. The trigger guard received a flat spot, in which I will possibly checker. The magwell was bevelled, and when I get a beavertail safety, that will be cut smoothed, and blended in also.

I found an old Remington Rand slide that someone else butchered pretty well. So it will make a perfect slide for me to start with. The barrel has been fitted to the slide, but the lugs still need some trimming, I think. Again, the slide has been melted, but I need to have the previous work welded before it can be completed. The slide stop pin was filed down to nearly be flush with the frame.

Well, last night I took out the checkering file that I bought off of ebay and made the serrations in the trigger guard. I like the way it turned out, and was very satisfied that the serrations turned out straight! Great shot of how level the SS pin is with the frame, also.

After that, I thought I might as well give it some type of finish. I have no idea how long before I could buy more parts and have time to install them. So out came the perma-blue, and whala!
