I dont have a 1911, but I am curious about the design. I have seen .22 conversions that replace the slide. can one swap out slides and use shorter/longer barrels. say I had a standard government style 1911, could I swap in a shorter or longer slide? what about calibers, is it like an AR in that all you need to swap is the upper/slide, and you can shoot different calibers? |

9mm, 38 super same slide, extractor and ejector 40, 10mm same slide, extractor and ejector 45 I think stands alone. Recoil spring will need to change with cal. Marvel is the only 22 conversion to buy. With a gov sized frame you can go as short as a commander length barrel, provided you swap the right parts. |
