I am looking at getting a LEGAL suppressor for my rock island 45acp and looking at using it on 45acp carbine. The carbine is a kit that has it's own upper and you just attach any full size 1911 lower to it and wala...carbine. The carbine fires like a champ im getting 3 inch groups at 100yrds. Worth ever bit of the 300 i paid for it.
I happen to live in a state and have a sheriff that believes in the second amendment and will sign the atf paperwork. Can anyone give me a good manufacturer that they had good results from and any info on funtionality of their wepon.(ie if they had to modify the gun with lighter springs to get the wepon to funtion). I would also like to know things like ammo used. Weight of bullet. I may just reload to tinker with that but i wanted a starting point. Im not sure if this is the forum for this and if it is not then i will cease and look for other forums. I say again i am purchasing a LEGAL SUPPRESSOR and am abiding by all NFA rules and just looking for some information as i have very little experience with suppressors. thanks

I just got a Gemtech Blackside last week, with a threaded barrel, for 1911 pistols.  I, too, have been thinking about getting either a Mech-Tech or Marlin Camp Carbine.

If you click on "Arms & Tactics" at the top of the page, and scroll down, you will find a discussion forum for Suppressors.  You're more likely to get the info you want there.
