+1 to all the above...

the best one i would guess is the one that you send off to a good reputable custom smith and have the parts you want installed in the 1911 style that fits YOU

In the $1,000ish range, a Kimber Warrior or Springfield MC Operator.

Keep in mind that a Pic railed gun will have limited holster options, but there are some.

You could also buy any quality 1911 and have a Dawson rail installed.  You would be limited to a Surefire X200 variant, and you have to use a Dawson rail adaptor.

There are many holsters for the Dawson equipped 1911, should you decide to go sans light for CCW.

Another alternative is to use the Surefire MR07 rail.  It installs/removes w/o tools.

Holster choices are limited to Safariland 6004/6280 variants, and will only fit the weapon/rail combo with the light installed.

There are no holsters that I know of that will fit a gun with an MR07 sans light.

invest in a quality holster--a holster is to a HG like a sling is to a rifle/shotgun, its just needed, irregardless if you plan on keeping it in the home or not....

as to a railed commander sized 1911, SA's operator is one: www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?version=32
