I just picked up a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec .45. Does anyone make a 10mm conversion for it? I'm limited to either a Glock ( ) or a Kimber (more than double what I paid for the Springfield) if I was to buy a new one, and rarely do used ones come up for sale around here. Am I s.o.l.?

I may be wrong -- I often am, ask my wife -- but I think you are Sorely Out of Luck. In addition to the breechface and extractor requiring a new slide, I believe the frame-mounted ejector would not work. That is, I guess you could convert your .45 to 10mm if you just replace the barrel, the slide and the frame!

What 1911's ejector is not frame mounted? It can be done, it would just as much as buying a new 10mm kimber. Gunsmith fees slide barrel etc all add up. |
