So I was shooting my Kimber Eclipse in .45ACP and had a strange malfunction that I have not heard of or encountered. I was down to one round left in the chamber and one in the magazine (Wilson Combat 47 - 7rd magazine). I fired and the remaining live round came flying out of the ejector port along with the empty casing. Slide locks back. Empty casing and live round bounce off the wall next to me and hit me in the head. Anybody had this happen before and any idea what caused it? |

About %99 sure it's a magazine problem. The spring on your magazine might be too strong, or your feedlips might be horribly malformed...and/or maybe your follower is bad. Basically, the round bounced right on out. Try a 7 round mag with a flat follower, with a dimple in it, like a USGI one...that should cure what ails you. The $7 USGI mags that are advertized as NIW work just fine for me. I have a pile of them, and after using them as much as I have I don't hesisitate to use them on my carry piece. |
