I have always wanted a 1911, but never broke down and spent the money yet. I found an as new, with box and paperwork, Colt Lightweight Commander at the gunshow this weekend for 650. No tax. It shoots great and I love this thing. Rosewood grips and I bought a wilson extended slide release besause I have smaller hands. What are your thoughts??? |

Did you get that "wilson" slide stop off of ebay from a guy name Alaska something? If so, it's junk, and most certainly NOT Wilson Combat. Sounds like you did good, but I'm no expert on Colt prices. I'd lose the ex. slide stop though- no normal human can reach one with the strong hand thumb anyways practice either using the weak hand after a mag change or doing sling shot method. |

I bought the Ext. Slide stop from a well known dealer at the show. I appreciate the advise. I did look at Gunbroker and found them their for around $600, but then you have to pay shipping and FFL fees, So I am fairly happy. Sorry no pics. My wife hid the camera from me again. |
