Hey guys I just bought a Springfield 1911 full size off gunbroker. I thought it was one of the '06 loaded package guns but turns out its atleast a couple years old. My question is what is the difference?

Which is probably the only difference, humor notwithstanding.  To be sure, I would call / email Springfield Armory.  Have fun with your pistol !!!

So there were no changes over the past couple years? It should still have the rear locking mechanism and the titanium firing pin all that stuff?

depends on just what a "few years old" is. to some that is 2 to others it can be 30.

Either way, you're still stuck with a Springfield.

Broken record, p00t...

I've had outstanding service from my Springfields.

You obviously had a bad one.

These things happen.

It should have the ils system. Dont know about the firing pin.

If I bought a springer and it had those parts I would swap them out for std parts.

Last ti pin I bought 6 year ago could not take USPSA use and the tip broke. I put the org pin back in the gun and she is still going strong.

It might still have the old square frame dustcover, which I think was discontinued in 03 or 04. Others here will know more about it though.

No need for sarcasm.  Everyone knows how you feel about Springfield's pistols.  Informed people just know better.

No need to run your replies by me.  Keep them in your empty head to keep the pea some company.
