I have bought a new barrel for my Goverment model and need to swap the link and pin to the new barrel. I tried to tap it out to no avail. Any suggestions. Thanks

You might have to really smack it hard..

Also, try dripping on some penetrating oil, like Kroil or something, first. It should make things a little easier.

But, yes...on really tight pins, only way is to put it on a block and punch the thing out with a fair bit of force.

I use  a vise, 2 blocks of oak, and a short pucnch a just small enough to fit in DIA. Close the vice and pin pushes right out. You can also set the pin in this way as well.

Many pins are staked more on one side than the other. Might want to eyeball it closely & see if this is the case with yours?
