| show me your yost 1* enhanced please |
I have one YoBo gun and one that is built and will be shipped up soon. The one I have is beautiful. I can find maybe one or two flaws--but every gun has that. I can and have found one or two cosmetic flaws on Heinie, Novak, Hoag and Rogers pistols. Most people cannot see them. I had some extractor issues. YoBo fixed it and the smith responsible was held accountable. Ted was NOT happy. Since then, it has worked great. My wait, on gun number two, if it ships in the next week or two, will be almost 11 months. Gun number one I bought from an ad, already built. |
have a couple...a few more are waiting to come home. have a had a few personal, not functional issues---they fix them--what more can you ask for? I will be sending them more guns in the future. a few friends have shot my 1* elite and have offered me money right then and there---can't find higher praise than that---hell they shoot glocks and were ready to switch koolaid flavors after 8 rounds. one complaint--jason almost got me divorced after a few answering machine messages about new guns ready to ship

Please STOP posting that pic! Everytime I see it, I feel a $2000 pull on my wallet... Beautiful gun. |
Oh go on...you know you want to... |
I know I do... |
|
It could be worse... You could have that tacky gaudy Volvo badge on your car or even worse your 1911!!! Its a honor to have a Yost stamp on your gun, it shows you have taste, you are one who knows and appreciates fine quality art and workmanship Not having that mark is like asking a famous artist not to sign his painting |
You are correct. I want to, bad. Anyway to get a look at the other side? That is a S70 repro, correct? |
Well . . . sorry for asking. I just don't particularly care for the look of the font and lettering on the right side of the frame like that. I really don't think that anything I pay $2k or more for is a badge of honor . . . the things that I earned through toil and sweat are badges of honor. But, by the tone of your response, I see that I am treading on someone else's hallowed ground. All I wanted to know was whether or not I HAD to have all those marks, since I'm looking to have a Delta Elite customized and as the owner and the dude paying the money, I like to have a say in what goes on my gun. |
obvisouly if you have to go through all that and have to ask, then I wouod recomend you take you rsnotty attitude and go somewhere else. if you are going to pay 2 grand do you think they will actually make you have there name on the slide? I think this is ground you would rather not tread on nor have experience doing so. for what its worth I would proudly have the yost-bonitz on my pistol. the mark on the pistol carrys alot of weight. |
|
Either way you would be best suited asking them the questions direct. They are a great group of guys, do great work and do not mind taking some time to talk with someone about a build. I do not understand why people dont ask questions about wait time and custom options directly to the people who do the work. I understand many people say they want to get an idea of what to expect but you never know till you talk directly to the guys who are doing the work as you never know how their schedule opens up or worse of closes up. |
I'll have my Delta Elite back from Yost-Bonitz in about 3-4 weeks. To hopefully put your mind at ease -- you would have total control over the build. I also did not want the YoBo logo on my gun...I asked Ted and he was not offended at all. He completely understood and will put his signature under the grips. You can't go wrong sending them your gun! One more month until Delta Heaven!
|
Thank you so much for the response I should have gotten from others! I've never been one for most of the custom logos that get put on guns, and however I "came across" I appreciate your information. I hope your Delta is the dream it should be for you. What finish is it going to have? I'll now return to my evening's repast of sacred cow . . . medium rare. |
|
If you do not want to look at the signature and think its tacky or however you phrased it having it put under the grips is a good alternative as you want to make sure you can prove its one of his pistols if you ever decide to sell it... As I said, its like a signed piece of art.... Enjoy and just get it done.... You will be happy. I cant wait to get my 45/70 Lever Big Lewie from them (it should be at my FFL, just waiting for his phone call. I hope to get it out and try it this weekend. |
That and a few other minor details such as the Fiber Optic front post etc. |
|
* Big Lewie Special, built on a .45-70 base rifle * Shorten and recrown barrel at 16.5" * Custom LPA ghostring sight installation with blade front sight * Barrel-mounted picatinny rail * Enlarged lever loop * Smooth all ports, inside and out * Modify loading gate for easier loading/unloading/downloading * Extensive action smoothing * Wild West trigger and Bear Proof ejector * Trigger job * Bobbed hammer * Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad * Leather butt cuff ammunition carrier * Complete action dehorning * Satin matte metal prep and bluing * Add low-mounted Picatinny accessory/optic rail, on barrel & receiver, fit to rear sight I also added a scout scope. I have not even been able to get it from my dealer yet but I have a feeling a 30/30 will be being ordered very soon with a few custom options for more of a defense rifle (light rail on side) The YoBo crew is great to work with. All very personal! |

Sorry for not seeing this earlier and thanks to all for the kind words... there’s nothing more we like than making customers happy by building them nice guns they can enjoy for a lifetime. With regards to our logo, it’s easy enough to forgo the etch or to have us place it somewhere out of sight such as underneath the right stock panel. We’ve done it in the past and have no issue with that at all... allot of people want a true custom gun but want it to look “clean” and we appreciate that. After all it is your gun that we’re just making better and, within reason, you should be able to have it your way. |
NICE!! |
Hell no! Post yours! What color is the sling on yours? Have you played with the buttcuff carrier? I still can't get it loose enough to get the rounds out of without a hammer and screwdriver. |
|
K I will get some up in the next day or two I have the tan sling and shell carrier. I have not even shot the thing and am already thinking about getting one in 30/30 in brushed stainless or a brushed Hard Chrome. I got the scout scope with mine but I must be honest and must admit I am kinda debating just running an Eotech. I wont be using this over 100 yrds! For me and Eotech is quicker unless there is some reason Im missing I would be losing out running that over the Scout Scope? Ammo... What are you using? I am looking at the Garrett and the Buffalo Bore. I was told just to run the 420 Hammerhead from Garrett for anything from Deer, boar, gators and brown bear. |
You are more than welcome...and it'll be hard chromed! Good luck! |
Dangit...now that's just cool! |
Well, I run mine with just the Irons. I like the handiness of it without anything. I mounted a 553 on it but just for shits and giggles. It sits too high to allow any sort of cheekweld. I think a scout scope is a great way to go for what the rifle is for IF you need optics. Like a 1.5 EER type scope, especially illuminated. Ammo. I use Winchester 300 Partition Golds. I've found they group far better than the LeveRevolution ammo. They are very solid performing rounds on hogs up to the 400+ lb range. If your'e dealing with bears etc I'd look into those 400+ gr Hammerhead rounds. But for everyday hunting etc I like the Winchesters. They are affordable, shoot well and easily found. This thing is a hoot to shoot so don't limit yourself to difficult to find, expensive ammo. Also, did you get the picatiny rail on the right side of the sling mount? I'm contemplating removing mine. I think it gets in the way more than anything. |
good point, JYogi. But often you get more candid feedback from actual users/owners and void of the marketing BS that all company's give you. It is their livelihood. and this is a discussion forum. I have a NIB Blued 70 series Colt that I purchased expressly for the purpose of serving as a base gun for the Yo-Bo shop or one of its reputation I will be contacting them after having read up on yours and others opinions and experiences. |

Hopefully Jason wont mind but this is a picture he took of my YoBo 1* enhanced with Kart barrel and upgraded trigger job. It shoots like a dream and i cant say enough about the service. Thanks http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b326/bgrover5883/Brent.jpg |
