| in the 1300-1400 range is the trp operator a good choice? some have told me to go for the wilson but i just can't spend that much. is there anything else i should be getting for that price or did i do good? everything is a little more expensive here on long island and these guys are letting me pay the pistol off over a 3 month period. |

since you asked for honest feedback... Instead of walking away with the pistol and paying installments, you could have paid yourself off over a three month period (or four) and had the money for a Wilson Combat. It's not so much an issue of money so far as I am concerned, but an issue of instant gratification vs. patience. Instant gratification is exhillerating but fleeting. After a few scuffs and scars, the gun is what it is (and how smart your purchase was will show in the end) $500 for this brand or even $50 for this bell and whistle can be staggering when it comes to ponying up right then and there, but 4 months, 2 years, etc, that extra hassle of money fades. If you get the inferior pistol however it is a constant reminder of regret. Had you saved the 3-4 months up front you could have found the Wilson Combat for a cheaper price than your dealer wanted (and since he's nice enough to delay payment, he's probably making up for it by charging more than others). So $400 more would have probably got you the Wilson. Will you like the SA? I think so and hope so. Is it a good gun? People seem to love them. Did you get a good deal on it? I don't buy SA so I can't help you there. Is a $1,400 Stock Springfield a better decision than a 1,900 $Wilson Combat? Maybe to some on this board, but not even close IMO. Nevertheless, you did buy the weapon already so your best alternative is not to ask questions that might put a damper on your experience and just enjoy the hell out of it. |
| Yup...shoot and enjoy. At the very worst, if you should have any issue encountered with your Springfield; the problem can be easily teched out and fixed with a minimum of time and money invested. The heart of the Springfield guns is their frames and slides which are very well made, usually by the famed Imbel Company of Brazil. A lot of folks sneer at this but Imbel makes top notch forgings. |
| i've only dropped $200 so far. if i back out i lose the money. the guy is charging 2199.00 for the wilson which i'm finding is way too much. am i still making out if i bail out now. i do hate losing 200 but it's better than losing 400 and/or being dissatisfied. i'll save the money myself . thanks for the advice. that being said ... wilson cqb, nighthawk talon or ,yost. i want a top tier but want to use her alot. i don't want her to be a safe queen i'm scared to use. also where can i get them for good prices? |
| no, t&t gunnery. any trp operator owners amongst you that have things to say about it? or, people that think i should bail now and save for the wilson instead. something tells me the springy will be great . i'll get rid of mim someday and have her tuned up alittle later |
I love my Operator. Tell ya what. Give it a shot, and see if you like it. If you don't, you can easily turn around and sell it. These things last no time at all on the EE here. I'm no fan of the adjustable sights, but I've heard that these guns shoot great. |
Wait a minute... I assumed you got a 90 days same as cash deal where he approves you and you walk out with the pistol (meaning all sales are final). YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE THE PISTOL???!!!! Dude, if you don't have the pistol, this is the dumbest deal made. It's layaway on overpriced guns. 1. Get your money back. You are getting screwed by this guy. 2. Go spend your money on the Wilson after saving up for it, or buy the Springfield somewhere else where it is cheaper. |
