How are these 1911's?  I have a neighbor who is selling one, supposed to be new, for $469.00.  On one side of the barrel it says "US ARMY", on the other side, on the frame it says "Auto Ordnance".

Save your cash for something much better for a few dollars more.

Yeah, I was thinking a springfield army spec, kinda looking into entry level 1911's. Although, I have a Kimber, I wanted something basic, but not a POS.

With AO you have a high chance of getting a POS

If you get one that runs, they're OK.

For what he's asking, I'd get a Springfield GI.

I wouldn't pay more than $300 for a NIB preowned AO.
I had one back in the mid 80's and that one was reliable with everything and very accurate (more accurate than my 80 series Colt at the time) but that was very rare.

Plus Infinity.

My last AO was junk, and it recieved repeat rave reviews in the recent "list your junk firearms" thread.

Kudos to spelling 'ordnance' correctly!
And heed the advice given.
