I have a 1911 (mfd 1918) and while its not in 99% condition I am missing the front sight.

I have heard all kinds or tales of woe when trying to locate the elusive 1911 front sight.

Does ANYONE have one?  Or even just a good drawing of one so I can get a few dozen made?

Thanks.

Try Colt, since they are making the 1911 reissue they might have a few extras if you can get ahold of the right person. I believe the tenon will not be correct tho, the older 1911s had a narrow one. Alternatively, you might want to hit some of the well known collector sights and see if anyone has an extra. They are usually in demand tho because of the ones bastardized over the years are now in demand in original condition. [yeah, it would not be truly original, but it sure would be harder to spot then some 60s revolver modded sight.

You need a small tenon government model front sight. Best bet is to contact Colt's Custom shop.
