This is an aluminum framed Series 70 Colt .45 ACP that just recently returned from Yost-Bonitz Custom.  The gun was a pretty well-used daily carry pistol before it was sent to Ted and gang for the overhaul.

I'm very pleased with the overall result.  Too bad I don't have any pictures of the gun before it was *'ed!

Did he machine in the slide Colt's Combat Commander? I always thought the difference between a Combat commander and a Commander was the frame material one being steel (combat commander) and the other be Al (commander).

I think somewhere down the line somebody swapped the Commander slide for a lighter Combat Commander slide.  Either that or it's a Colt factory screw-up.  Most likely the former.
